“so perfectly tuned, so varied in color”
— Gramophone Magazine
Gramophone Magazine has described Dana Zemtsov’s playing as “so perfectly tuned, so varied in color and with such considerable distances in the intervals between the notes, that you would be forgiven for thinking it sounded more like a chamber orchestra.”
Dana performs regularly in major concert halls such as the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall, Palacio de Bellas Artes and Sala Nezahualcóyotl. As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with artists including Janine Jansen, Giovanni Sollima, Martin Fröst, Anna Fedorova, Ilya Gringolts, and Boris Berezovsky.
“Ever saw a violist play so intense that you literally see the friction cause smoke to emanate from the strings? Well new Channel Classics artists Dana Zemtsov does just that as she plays Michael Kugel’s Prelude – Ysaye as she roams around an empty church.”
